Aimee cycling in British Columbia

Founded by Aimee Trudeau and Kismat Sood in 2010, BikeTrippin gives bike tourists a way to easily share their experiences with their friends, family, and other cyclists.

The idea for BikeTrippin came about when we were planning our first long bike tour with our friends Mai-yan and Nick. We each decided to leave our jobs in order to go on the most amazing trip of our lives. We planned to ride up the United States Pacific Coast, from Los Angeles to Vancouver, and then head east across Canada, ending our journey in Montreal. Before departing, we built a blog to record our experiences and photos, and to keep our friends updated about our latest location. As excited as we were about it, it was a lot of work to customize it for these specific needs.

After many miles of riding, we decided to build a site that would allow bike tourists to journal about their tours, post pictures, and map their routes. The goal was to create a site that would be easy to use and specific to a bike tourist's needs.
