We got off to a fresh start, bright and early at 6:20, meaning we woke up at 4:15 in order to pack and have breakfast. It was a beautiful ride through San Luis Obispo and we made it all the way to Morro Bay before noon. We had an awesome lunch of panini, smoothies and hot coffee at Top Dog Coffee Bar.

After lunch, we stopped for groceries in Cayucos. Nick and Kismat waited outside of the grocery store, honing their guitar skills, while we shopped. When we returned, Nick was deep in conversation with a local, Dennis, who was giving expert advice on the route to San Simeon, including the best spot for free firewood (Santa Rosa Creek).

The rest of the ride to San Simeon was smooth. Another day in the bag!
