The Campground Won Toda
Today was a beautiful day of riding. We started in Coos Bay, traveled through Bandon and ended up in Port Orford. We each managed to ride between 45 and 50 miles. Bandon is a cute little coastal town, with a harbor, a lighthouse, and wetland. After Bandon we rode on to Port Orford and had a post ride meal at the Crazy Norwegian, a local fish & chips joint. After eating we walked down to the harbor. It's a working harbor with a small beach and numerous haystacks just offshore.
We checked out the local motel, but it was an $80 dump. So we were off in search of a campground. We checked out the Elk River RV park and it met all our standards….quiet, hot showers, and away from the coastal wind and dampness, and only $15 a night.! It's located in a grassy valley with a river meandering past the campground. As I write this I can hear the cows mooing in the distance. Maybe we'll see an elk tomorrow. Tomorrow it's morning coffee in the campground and then on to Brookings.

Port Orford Harbor and Beach

A little more dry dock work is needed before they set sail
